What are Valves?

Valves are type of mechanical devices that controls the flow and pressure within a system or process. They are important components of a piping system that flows liquids, gases, vapours, slurries etc.

There are many types of valves available for different application: Gate Valve, Globe Valve, Plug Valve, Ball Valve, Butterfly Valve, Check Valve, Diaphragm Valve, Pinch Valve, Pressure relief Valve, Control Valves etc.

Each of these types has different models, different features and functional capabilities. Some valves are self-operated and some are manually operated or operated with an actuator or pneumatic or hydraulic system.

2. Reduce or increase a flow
3. Controlling the direction of flow
4. Regulating a flow or process pressure
5. Relieve a pipe system of a certain pressure
